Video of programming for the motor

This program of the motor is to control the roof moving by using two photoresisters. When one is covered, the roof will turn to one side. When neither of them is touched, the roof will keep flat and no water will come out.

For getting a water sheet, we tried a lot kinds of shapes for the roof, and we have designed a new one and will test it if it is working.

Final Model Prototyping1

The problems:
1. Maybe the motor is wet by water or the weight of the roof, which cause the roof cannot turn left and right. So we will check why the motor doesn't work properly next step.
2. We change the shape of the pipe which hold the water, the new pipe(the second video) can control the water current and the water flow is easy-control.
3. The pattern of the roof also changed since the previous roof which is curve on the top will pured the water far away from thegame players after we did the demostration, after that we designed the roof again so that the roof can contain the water and the water flow can pured on the correct position of the game players.

Final Model Prototyping

Final Model1 Final Model2

Final Model3

The roof structure
We are currently working on the mould /die for the roof as it be the vaccum formed.
Our model is now quite caomplete in terms of structure.

We bought a motor from a toy store, attached it to our model, but it working rotately, we spoke to the tutor Kingsin, we have to buy another motor and programme it so that it works back and forth then complete rotation.

The Prototype2

This viedo shows how the roof works with the pump.

We conducted the prototype again using the pump and electricity, but after the demostration, we realized that the pipe which make the water came out is so narrow that the pressure is not insufficient. So we will buy wider pipe, the motor and 4 pieces of light sensor to make the further prototype demostration.

The Pump

We choose the Via Aqua 480 Aquarium Pump as our model item at the bottom of the model, Power Head delivers high performance. Sealed, internal housing insures quiet operation. The Via Aqua Aquarium Pumps are fully submersible and can be paired with wet-dry filters, venturi protein skimmers, under gravel filtering systems, ponds and fountains in both fresh and salt water.
So the next step we will fix this pump to our model.

The First Prototype

This is the first prototype to show how the roof works.

We just pured the water from the bottom of the model by hand to let the others know how this roof works, since the bump haven't fixed already.

Next step we will keep on working to know how the bump fixes and works, so that we can add the pump to our model to make it work atuomatically by electricity.

Concept Development - " Aqua Byte “

The 4 interactive zones are located at the four corners of the swimming pool.

There are 2 levels of interactions.

LEVEL 1:
People who are standing in the same zone interact with each other by the movement of the separator roof.

The scenarios goes like as follows:

Scenario 1:
No one is standing, the roof is flat and no water pouring.

Scenario 2:
One person is standing, roof bends down towards him/her and water starts pouring like a sheet.

Scenario 3:
When 2 people are standing, roof moves up/down with water pouring on both sides, alternatively.

Scenario 4:
When more than 2 people standing on oppsite sides, roof moves faster and splashes water all around the zone.

LEVEL 2:
People who are standing in the opposite zones interact with each other by a gesture: JUMPING. This gesture leads to a fountain popping out from the tiny outlets below, to the person on the opposite zone.

This can be played on both sides. The scenario goes like this:

In order to increase random play and interaction among different people in space, we can store a default program, wherein 2 people in opposite zones are connected just for 60 seconds. With time, different people in opposite zones get connected.

The scenario goes like this:

Concept Development2 - " Aqua - Byte"

The new name of "Interactive Water Play" is called "Aqua -Byte" that located in a public swimming pool. The interaction of our basic model is HHI via HCI.

Level 1 : "one to one" interaction

When one one is standing, the roof is flat and no water will be poured.

If the person stands, the waterpops pout of the roof like a stream.

If one person in the action zone jumps, waters springs out all around from the fllor in the other side. and the footprint sensor is divided by there different colors.

When 2 people are standing, the roof move like up& down.

Concept Improvement 1- "Interactive Water Play"

The basic interaction of the game "Interactive Water Play" is between the human gestures and the movement of the shade. After disscussion our team decided four key gestures to control this device, those are standing, jumping, left feet and right feet stepping alternately and bending down. 1.Standing : If you come and stand on the action sensitive area , the person on the reaction zone will be showered like slight drizzle. If you move away, there is no water.
2.Jumping: If you start jumping on the sensitive area in the action zone, the roof of the reaction zone will move down with a jerk, like a "heavy downpour" on the other player.
3.Left feet and right feet stepping alternately :If you steps lefe/right/left/right alternatively in the sensitive place, in the reaction zone the roof will move, and splashes the water all around.
4.Bending Down : If the player in the action zone bend down, the other person will be had pressured shower.

The moment you put your feet on the sensitive footprint, the light will be turn to green.
